BIOGRAPHY

Alanna is a versatile and in-demand harpist whose artistry and sensitivity have made her a sought-after collaborator across Canada and beyond.

She studied at the University of Toronto with renowned harpist Judy Loman, and later at McGill University with celebrated harpist Jennifer Swartz, shaping her distinctive voice as an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician. She is also forever grateful to the two teachers who nurtured her harp beginnings, Sharlene Wallace and Marie Lorcini, whose early mentorship laid the foundation for her artistry.

Alanna performs regularly as a guest harpist with leading Canadian ensembles, including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, London Symphonia, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and the National Ballet of Canada, among others.

A two-time alumna of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, she toured Spain, Germany, and Scotland, and is also a 2022 graduate of the Orchestra of the Americas OAcademy program.

Alongside her performing career, Alanna maintains a thriving private harp studio, serves as Harp Faculty for the Community Music Schools of Toronto, and sits on the board of the Ontario Harp Society. A dedicated educator and advocate, she is passionate about nurturing artistry, expression, and community through music.
